cruise:

Northern Kimberley. Flew Broome-Mitchell Plateau by light aircraft, then helicopter over the Mitchell Falls to land on top of the vessel moored in the Mitchell River. Then cruised to Wyndham.

cabin: deluxe double (lower deck)

The cabin was comfortable and featured ample storage space for luggage. The advtange of being in a Superior or Flybridge is that you would have large viewing windows and more space than the Deluxe double. All cabins have their own ensuite.

top 3 sights / activities:

1)  I really enjoyed exploring the wreck of a DC3 that had crashed in WW2.

2) Viewing the Bradshaw rock art - believed to be the oldest known rock art in the world!

3) Taking a freshwater shower under the King George Falls - climbing to the top was also a highlight with a spectacular view of the gorge.

food report:

There was a mixture of buffet and a la carte. The chef on board was amazing, working creatively with fresh Kimberley produce.

this cruise is ideal for:

Active people who like fishing, exploring, viewing aboriginal art and discovering remote swimming spots - yet still enjoy the on board comforts that the Kimberley Quest II has to offer (such as spa and comfortable beds).

most useful item i packed:

Reef walkers - I'd use them for shore landings in the tender boats as well as for some of the walks. These shoes are great because they are quick dry.

value for money:

Definitely! If you went on a first class holiday anywhere in the world with all accommodation, 5 star meals, daily activities and guides included, you'd find the price very similar. Not to mention waking up in a different spot each day with everything prepared and ready to go.
